The Steam page recommends Low quality at 1080p or above for the minimum target, and Medium or Low quality at 1440p or above for the recommended target.
If the first launch is black or unresponsive
The official launch FAQ gives this order:
- Wait—first boot can be slow.
- In Steam, verify the integrity of installed files.
- Check antivirus or firewall interference and whitelist the game directory if appropriate.
- Install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
- Update graphics drivers.
- Close memory-heavy background programs and restart.
