Steam Deck is not currently supported

The answer comes directly from the official launch FAQ, not from a compatibility guess. The developer says any future plan for gamepad or Steam Deck support will be announced when available.

What the current release supports

  • Windows 10/11 64-bit: supported
  • Mouse and keyboard: current control target
  • Steam Deck: not supported
  • Gamepad: not supported
  • Linux: not supported
  • macOS: not supported

Why this page does not recommend a workaround

Community compatibility layers, Proton settings and unofficial controller mappings can change. They may launch the executable without making the interface, action queue or support path reliable. That is different from official support.

If you already own a Deck, follow the official Steam announcement feed and confirm the store's compatibility state before installing. Do not buy the game solely on an unverified video or isolated report.

What would count as a real change

Treat the status as updated only when the developer publishes a patch note, the Steam store lists verified controller/Deck support, or both. A third-party mapping is not the same product promise.
